Registry office, community centre, competent service provider for administrative
acts, sensitive partner; joy and sorrow meet hourly in the marble halls of “Registrar House” in Edinburgh. Heartrending, romantic or amusing snapshots that, uncommented, show nervous bridal couples, amused guests or grieving relatives. The film also pays homage to the work of the registrars and their sympathetic reactions to the emotional needs of their clients; they also need to make the right decisions.

tJane McAllister is a filmmaker specialising in directing, filming and editing creative documentaries. She went on to study for an MFA in film directing at the Edinburgh College of Art. Her ECA produced short “Caretaker for the Lord”, won the President’s Award at the Full Frame Film Festival in North Carolina and the Silver Hugo for best short documentary at the Chicago International Film Festival.ext
