Stay the Same
D, ED, CI: Sam Firth
UK 2013, OS, 14‘
Shots of a woman‘s face as she stands by the seashore with a stretch of coastline behind her, filmed on the same spot and at the same time every day. The rhythm of the images is constant, but as the seasons change so does the woman’s expression, her clothing and the light. The only constant is this continuous change. Nothing is said, the soundtrack is an original musical score by the Scottish composer Fraya Thomsen. This minimalistic self-portrait shifts the demarcation line between film and form, and results in a poetic encounter with a woman who radiates beauty, peace or pain, depending on the day and the season. Die Einstellungen zeigen vordergründig das Gesicht einer Frau
