“Together, Respect, Responsibility”, that is the ethos of the Dutch gendarmerie
corps, the Royal Netherlands Marechaussee. One of their many tasks is escorting rejected asylum seekers during their deportation. In a three-week training course the recruits learn that the foremost premise of their actions should be humanity. We accompany the soldiers Fay and Jordan during their training and its implementation. The images of the deportees are all unclear, in scenes recorded by the surveillance cameras. We hear only their fearful voices, while the faces of Fay and Jordan reflect the inhumane situation.

Guido Hendrikx (1987) grew up in the Netherlands. He studied liberal arts and sciences at Utrecht University, taking courses in film, criminology, journalism and philosophy. His documentary debut – Day Is Done* - premiered at IDFA 2010 in the competition for Dutch Documentary. In the same year he enrolled at the Dutch Film Academy in Amsterdam to study directing.
